¡Mexicanas al grito de guerra!
For this year's International Women's day, the lovely gals at Malvestida invited Mexican illustrators to produce a piece portraying the horrific struggle women face against gender-based violence in Mexico, a country where feminicides are a daily occurrence, and their stories leave an open wound in the the beating hearts of those of us that remain.
"Mexicanas al grito de guerra!" is a play on Mexico's national anthem lyrics, calling for Mexican women to fight back, by any means necessary, to regain what should be our birthright: Life.
Mexicans to the cry of war, assemble steel and bridle, and the Earth will tremble to its core to the resounding roar of the cannon.
